LEED® (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification for properties is becoming more and more important, particularly for the commercial real estate practitioner, as global energy, water, & waste management efficiency standards continue to rise. Buildings, campuses, neighborhoods, lease spaces, and homes can be LEED® Certified and Real Estate Professionals can be LEED® Accredited. Understanding LEED® standards helps a license holder accurately assess a property’s purchase value and costs associated with ongoing use. Learn about different types of LEED® Rating Systems including BD+C (Building Design + Construction), ID+C (Interior Design + Construction), O+M (Operations + Maintenance), ND (Neighborhood Development), and Homes. Students will also learn about the LEED® AP (Accredited Professional) credentials for LEED®GA (Green Associate), LEED AP BD+C, ID+C, O+M, ND, and Homes credentials to be able to identify what to look for when hiring a LEED® Accredited Professional, as well as how to become LEED®APs themselves.
